By downloading, installing, or using HNPulse ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Description of Service
HNPulse is a Hacker News reader app that provides access to publicly available Hacker News content. The App also offers AI-powered comment insights as a premium feature.
Subscriptions and Purchases
HNPulse offers an optional auto-renewable yearly subscription ("HNPulse Premium") that unlocks unlimited AI comment insights. By subscribing:
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription automatically renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price.
- You can manage and cancel your subscriptions by going to your App Store account settings after purchase.
- Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
AI-Powered Features
The Comment Insights feature uses artificial intelligence (OpenAI) to generate summaries of publicly available Hacker News comments. These summaries are generated automatically and may not fully or accurately reflect the content of all comments. AI-generated insights are provided for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as a complete or authoritative representation of the discussion.
Content
HNPulse displays content from Hacker News, which is user-generated and publicly available. We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for any content displayed through the App. Hacker News content is subject to the Y Combinator Terms of Use.
User Conduct
You agree not to misuse the App, including but not limited to:
- Attempting to access the App's backend services in an unauthorized manner.
- Using the App to harass, abuse, or harm others.
- Reverse-engineering, decompiling, or disassembling the App.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer of HNPulse shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the App.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Governing Law
These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Germany.
